Cat Tale 31: Roaring Snoring and Dream Worlds

We do snore occasionally, I have to admit, but nothing like the high-volume noise you humans sometimes have coming out of your mouths when lying motionless in your beds. Help! More than once, I’ve been suddenly woken up, half-scared to death by those penetrating, bone-rattling sounds that my caretakers roar out.

And yes, we do dream like your species does, but no, we don’t get into the interpret-the-symbolic-meaning kinds of entertainment or therapy as our caretakers do. If you’ve hung out a lot with cats and observed us during our nap times, you’ve surely noticed the rapid eye movements and muscle twitches up in that area of our heads.

I’ve been told that those are characteristic indicators that humans and cats are off into a parallel universe. We might be having exciting adventures or horrifying nightmares that are all free from the normal boundaries and restrictions of the space-time continuum.

Hmmm. I have no idea what I just said, I’m sorry to admit, since I saw a program on the moving picture box in my living room about this stuff and am just repeating what I heard. Parallel universes? Space-time what?

But ignoring my lack of sophisticated understanding, I do know that these are weird, surreal kinds of experiences that leave you a bit confused at times when you first wake up and are still trapped between what is called the dream world and everyday reality. In more extreme cases, you’re not even sure which part is fiction and which is fact. Help, again!

Strange stuff, wouldn’t you say? Well, who cares. I’m just happy to be napping!
