End Slate
There are many other films not recalled here; In the Name of The Father, Gladiator, Batman Begins, Kingdom of Heaven, Children of Men and Charlie & the Chocolate Factory; all of which have untold ‘behind the scenes’ stories. Film making at this scale is truly a circus with the production process often a more amusing and dramatic tale than the movie itself. Little glamour is involved in the day to day business of building a movie, the pace can sometimes be compared to watching a coffin lid warp. However observing the myriad of talent at work, the mesh of skills required to complete the jigsaw that turns up as a movie at your multiplex has proved highly rewarding for a film loving kid.
I have over the years often been asked how can my son or daughter get into the industry, well there really is no magic bullet answer to that one, it's obviously useful to meet people like those mentioned above, and you need to be able to get on with everyone whether you like them or not. Perhaps there are a couple of rules that may apply:
Rule one: You have to like movies
Rule two: You really have to love movies
Rule three: Refer to rules 1 & 2 above
There is a general caveat to these 'rules' and that is you must be passionate, persistent, never let go; and if it works out then I'm sure adventures in movies can be your reward as it was mine for some memorable time.
