About the author:
Paul Bernard grew up in West Yorkshire on the outskirts of Leeds. He attended Garforth Community College, and in 1980 went to Farnham School of Art in Surrey to study for a degree in Film, Photography and Animation. On completion he joined the BBC as an assistant film editor at BBC North, working on local documentaries and the nightly news show, Look North. In 1984 he switched track to became a freelance camera assistant in the film and television industry. He was made an honorary member of the British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA) in 1995 for his work producing a short film, “Reflections”, celebrating the centenary of British Cinema. He now lives in Ealing, west London supporting the work of The Trussell Trust and Victim Support, and occasionally dips his toe back in the circus.
