Chapman

As a model, Helen Chapman's career had longevity that defied the odds. She was born as Dorothy Marie Uehlein (1918-1986) in Chicago, Illinois. She had roles in several movies, usually as a dancer, chorus girl, or model. She was crowned Miss Foreign Trade in 1946 and Miss World Trade in 1947 at the ages of 27

and 28, which was impressive consider most of the contestants were teenagers. Afterwards, she married an attorney Cecil Collins, and took time off before returning to Hollywood in the 1950's when Howard Hughes offered her a contract with RKO

Studios.

As she grew older, she changed her name so that agencies wouldn't know her age. Her names included Helen Mitzie Chapman, Mitzie Uehlien, and Mitzi Uehline. At the age of 42, she starred in Bells Are Ringing (1960), and retired in Orange, California with her husband. Her most die-hard fans would know her by her other stage name, Mitzi Uehlein, when she was awarded Most Beautiful Legs of 1937 and crowned Princess of the 1940 All-Winter Festival.
