Elizabeth "Betty" Jean Onge (1932-2005) was a curvaceous blonde born in Colorado to George and Mildred Onge. Their family moved to California after her father was transferred.
Betty graduated from Van Nuys High School and began competing as pageants. She won a bevy of titles throughout her career including Queen of May Day and Miss Photogenic. This led to a contract with RKO Studios, who casted her in walk-on roles in Son of Sinbad (1955) and The Las Vegas Story (1952).
She made headlines while filming Road to Bali (1951) when she contracted measles from co-star Bob Hope. Her promising -that included being a Ziegfield Showgirl- career ended early after she married James Leon Roberts. They had two sons named James and Steven. Ironically, her sister married a producer named James Reed which kept both women in Hollywood. Betty died on February 25, 2005 in Ventura, California of natural causes.
