Dori A. Nowak (1927-2013) was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Joseph and Grayce Nowak. She wanted to be an actress ever since she was a child. She was cast in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1938), but was replaced before filming began. She decided to study acting with Helen Marr Bartlett so that she could get more roles. She got her first starring role in The Little Princess onstage before becoming a showgirl with Earl Carroll.
Her love of acting was evident when she left Columbia University to go to Hollywood.
Her appearance in Vertigo (1958) as a lookalike of Kim Novak solidified her status in cinema. She was married three times and had two children. She went from acting to producing, when she joined the crew of Inside L.A. She'd occasionally interview guests as well.
