Lynn Penny Wallad of Sherman Oaks, California was a co-ed at the University of California, Los Angeles when she was crowned Miss Recreation of 1960 against 17 other contestants. She was responsible for overseeing the recrational activities for Recreation Month. In July, she was crowned Miss Firecracker to reigh over the Rose Bowl's Fireworks Show. She was incredibly athletic, playing basketball, water skiing, and tennis for the university After graduating, she became the Athletic Director of the Encino Recreation Center. She would occasionally organize stage productions as well during the holidays.
