Dear Spiritual Seeker,
I hope you have noticed your significant life events that require self-inquiry. Besides the input mentioned in the ‘Introduction’ section, I am sharing a few guidelines that would help you gain insights from life’s events. If you invest even 20 minutes daily in maintaining your self-journal, then you can develop a productive habit. This shall improve your spiritual intelligence.
Guidelines
● Relax your body and mind using any relaxation techniques (for a short duration) that help you turn the mind inward. It will prepare you to pay attention during visualization. Preferably, keep any specific time of the day (such as night) and space for practice. These prior arrangements help us maintain self-discipline.
● Visualize your life events and write describing your actions, feelings, and thoughts as it is without judgement. These life events can be from early childhood till your recent days.
● Identify the emotions you experienced during those events. Below is the list of negative and positive emotions. These are not an exhaustive list but cover the major aspects of life.
Unpleasant Emotions
Worry, Anxiety, Fear, Insecurity, Guilt, Shame, Unworthiness, Disappointment, Grief, Sorrow, Aloofness, Anger, Jealousy.
Pleasant Emotions
Appreciation, Gratitude, Faith, Trust, Worthiness, Joy, Peace.
● Visualize your instance of the event that triggered that specific emotion. The mind may distract from witnessing. No worry, we all have been through this phase!
With sincere daily practice, you could witness life's instance and experience the emotion. As a result, you can heal the mind.
● Over time, observe any pattern of similar emotions. This helps you to gain insight about an underlying limiting belief that requires your attention.
All the best. Wish you a healthy and joyful life!
