FOR A POETESS
Some embrace the dying night
While love still strives to fill
Them with its sacral light.
Some still court a finished past
When the future calls to build
A relationship that will last.
Some choose to flee the fire within
And renounce the courage that it takes
To begin again.
Life is always for today
This cannot be denied
And it is more human to love again
And let the dead past die.
