GREATEST OF ALL FOOLS

Greatest of all fools are you, lady,

Greatest of all fools.
For Truth, once vainly scorned,

May flee and never again illumine

A mortal’s way.
O arrogant day when a woman

Makes herself alone,
To roam the sea of being

Seeking a peace gone,

A truth dismissed,
A shelter unfound.

Greatest of all fools are you, Lady,

Greatest of all fools.
