THE TEN OF SWORDS

“The Lord of Ruin”

Sun in Gemini

DESCRIPTION AND SYMBOLISM

Under a pitch black sky, a man lies face down on an isolated stretch of beach. Ten swords impale him piercing the back of his ruined figure as every drop of his lifeblood flows out into the sand. His is partially covered in a red cloak, the color of which matches his blood. The sea before which his body lies is calm and smooth and the sun is rising behind the mountains and beginning to illuminate the inky black sky. The light of the rising sun is dispelling the darkness as it rises and soon a new day will arrive.

ASTROLOGICAL ASSOCIATION

The fiery power of the Sun so inflates the airy personal mental sphere  of  Gemini  that  the  mind  becomes  the  victim of its own selfish and egotistical ends. This corrosive force of self inflation devours mental stability from within until the mind can no longer protect itself from the problems that assail it. A dark void opens up into which it falls and is unable to escape. Like a cancer that devours the body, uncontrolled egotism is a cancer that devours the mind.

ORACLES

When Appearing Upright in a Reading

Ruin stalks you. Misfortune is coming to call. Your apparent success holds the seeds of your undoing. Be on guard against an unexpected attack. It could lead to your downfall.

When Appearing Reversed in a Reading

A new day will dawn and the forces afflicting you will be overthrown. Your problems will be resolved and, with renewed courage, you can start over again.

THE TREE OF LIFE

“The Sphere of the Kingdom”

The complete disruption of the mental energy leads the self to utter ruin as its own selfishness and egotism bring to it the destructive forces that spill its own life’s blood.
