    This is not the easiest book to read. Obviously one must be truly interested in the subject to take the time. I read a part of it when I bought it. It remains on my Kindle and every so often; together with other similar books of human development, not to mention the Napoleonic wars(!); I go back to it. Plate tectonics is really interesting as it is believed to have been one of the primary reasons that humans "are what we are", eg by far the most intelligent ape with the capability to actually terraform! Not that THAT can actually be counted as yet as a total success, but one lives in hope that the 'human ape' will "grown up" soon enough to learn how NOT to ruin the planet while living on it. The story of our development, in stages over 5,000,000 years is well worth studying; another book name 'Origins' by Lewis Dartnell is also truly interesting.
