A mentor will not only help you to come up with that strategy but will also guide you in implementing it but will not do it for you.

 

A mentor can be a valuable aide in helping keep you on track and steering you back on course should you start to alter but a mentor's job is not to advise you or to do the work for you. This is something for you to do.

 

They are there however, to encourage you, motivate you and make you think about how you could change, implement and improve things.

 

Do I need a business mentor?

 

If you have a seed of an idea but are unsure what you should do next, or are apprehensive about moving forward, you could benefit from a business mentor.

 

Mentors can play an important role in all businesses, even when they are set up and running smoothly. Mentors don't always come on board at the beginning of a business; they can be appointed at any time, so don't think that by talking with a mentor at the outset is a sign of weakness. It's not!

It is not uncommon for business owners to get so wrapped up in certain issues that they cannot see the wood for the trees. Business owners often find it difficult to talk to people outside of their business and that's where a business mentor can come in.

 

A business mentor will look at things objectively, from an independent point of view and often see things that you haven't seen.
