Time management & Personal achievement...

This is the first of a mini-series of articles that will share with you a variety of ideas and concepts that IF acted upon could change your destiny. If you are unorganized and are not getting done what you want to get done, it is time start with a blank slate, today.

The key word is “blank slate”…what we do today will determine or tomorrow and over the course of the year you will, whether you like it or not, write another chapter in the story of your life. Our personal efforts at goals and objectives in the areas of personal enrichment, education, work, career and finances determine what we will write down on this blank slate. What story will you write for your life over the next few months? In the new year?

Everybody knows that readers of Best Business & Management Articles have an above average intelligence so, if you are reading this article you have that going for you right out of the chute. So how can you maximize your intelligence and the application of your time and energy to squeeze the most out of time?

The answer is simple… by generally understanding the big picture of everything you want to accomplish in a lifetime and breaking it down into smaller and smaller components that you can manage in the form of goals and objectives. You should have lifetime goals, 10-year goals, 5-year goals, 1-year goals, 6-month goals, 90-day goals, monthly goals, weekly goals and daily goals. Depending on your age, your wants and needs, goals and objectives will change over time…that's natural. The important point is to HAVE goals and objectives…and many people don't. People often-live day to day with no clear direction…their lives being a driven by circumstances and not plans.

Many people spend their time imagining how successful people become successful without ever understanding the simplicity of how it's done… successful people have a LOT of goals and they accomplish them by step by step through a wise application of their time and effort. Here's how they do it: They think! They dream, hope, wish and fantasize like everyone else but the difference is they set goals, they determine the most logical way to achieve them by careful planning and then they act upon it! They put their plans in action! And they adjust their plans accordingly. Okay…what if you don't have any goals? This is easily solved…get some paper (ideally a spiral bound notebook) and write down everything you want… a wish list… everything you want out of life if you could snap your fingers and have it.

It doesn't matter how crazy it is…write it down. Want a million dollars? Want a new Cadillac? Want to be a doctor or nurse? Want your own business? Write it down in your list! The key is to start thinking and start writing! No matter what you want, write it down… the mind is a funny thing…you will become what you think about.

The mind will deliver plans to achieve that which you think about. If you think you can't do it, you won't. If you think you can, you will. I am here today to tell you that you can do whatever you choose to do…you can change your destiny and the lives of others the moment you choose to work in the right direction. As a matter of fact, success can be defined as the moment you set upon a worthy goal.

The moment you start thinking about a worthy goal is the moment you move one step closer to achieving it! Isn't that exciting news? As you develop your wish list understand that your goals are tucked in there disguised as wishes. All you have to do is analyze those wishes to determine which ones are reasonable and achievable. Then prioritize them and start taking action!

Stay tuned, there is more to come!
