Lessons for Crisis
8. Stabilize one thing at a time.
In a storm, secure one element, then build upon it. Imagine trying to put four pegs of a tent in at the same time in a hurricane. Put one in first, then the next, and so forth. Confidence and clarity will build with each secure element.
Task: You have your plan. Start by getting your arms around one thing, then move to the next. Don’t do six things halfway; do one thing the right way and then move on. This will build confidence in your team and show progress to all of your stakeholders.
