Lessons for Life
2. Separate fact from opinion.
Everyone has an opinion, in good times and bad. Everyone will offer a point of view as to why you won or why you lost; they will present it as “facts.” In business, the facts are on the page—they present themselves as numbers. Interpretation of those numbers is opinion.
Task: Challenge every conversation, every meeting, and every email in order to separate fact vs. opinion. It’s perfectly acceptable to have opinions, but have the entire company get in the practice of dividing them from facts.
