Saying Yes and Trying More Things
In most situations, when you say, “No” and stop trying new things, you’re saying “No” to life and all it has to offer. You’re closing the door to growth, experience, and new opportunities. Everything you like, you like because you’ve tried it or experienced it in some way or another. Some people must think they like enough things already, because they won’t try something new for the life of them. Maybe these people would say, “Well, I like this a lot, and don’t know if I’ll like that.” To which I would respond, “Did you like that thing before you tried it? Or did you try it, and then realize you liked it, and over time it’s become one of your favorite things?”
That’s usually how you come to liking something. You try something, realize you like it, maybe compare it to other things, and, over time, accumulate enough affirmation about it, and it becomes one of your favorite things. Your favorite things in life all rooted from trying something. Literally everything you like and love has come from experiencing it in some way or another. So by saying “No” to trying something new without a valid rationale, you’re saying you don’t have any more room to like or love something new. You’ve officially hardened like concrete and can no longer change, adapt, or experience new things. You’ve become a broken record that goes through life repeating the same things over and over and over.
Most kids have tried a sip of their parents’ beer. I know I personally used to hate beer. Now I like it. But if I had let my old associations of beer prevent me from saying “Yes” to trying it again in the future, I would not like beer in this present day. Just because you remember not liking something, you shouldn’t let that stop you from ever trying that thing again. I have only a few friends of whom I can truly say that they are willing to try and experience new things almost anytime, any day. They understand that, if there isn’t a good reason why they shouldn’t try and experience something new, then they might as well give it a shot — they can always go back to what they know they like next time. I’m talking about something as small as ordering a new meal at your favorite restaurant to something on a larger scale, perhaps going to another part of the world for vacation rather than to the same place you go every year. When you open the door to new opportunities, you open the door to a whole new world full of new and endless experiences.
“In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years.”
— Abraham Lincoln

I need to start by thanking my wonderful parents for giving me such a wonderful life, and giving me the opportunities I’ve had to experience such amazing things in life. They’ve definitely been one of the biggest reasons for the way my life has turned out.
I want to thank my friend and amazing mentor John Assaraf for helping me not only grow my business, but also for sharing with me so much of his extraordinary wisdom. I’m so grateful and blessed to know John. I highly advise anyone whose interested in learning more about how to shatter their financial glass ceiling in their business to buy John’s material and learn from him the way I have. It’s crazy to think just a few years ago, I was studying his material, and now I’m working, learning, and hanging out with him on a personal and professional level. If you want to learn from the best, learn from John Assaraf!
I also want to thank my main man, Tony Robbins, the man who’s helped me along the way every day in bettering myself by growing and developing daily, and creating myself into who I want to become. The knowledge that Tony has obtained over the years and the power he has in changing people’s lives is unbelievable. I would recommend to anyone, no matter how successful, to invest your time and money in learning what Tony teaches. He helped inspire me to write my book. Tony taught me a lot of the amazing strategies and tools people can use to take control of their lives and create the dream life they want.
I also want to thank my other amazing mentors who have helped me along the way with their wonderful material, guidance and wisdom: Brian Tracy, Jay Abraham and many more! You’ve all played a large role in my development. Each of you has also inspired me to want to follow in your footsteps of becoming a consultant, mentor, and coach. I also want to thank all my friends and family who are in my life. I’m blessed to have you all. It really is true that the quality of your life is determined by the quality of your relationships. I especially want to thank you for taking the time to read this book. I hope it will help you take action towards making some positive changes in your life and those of the people around you. Go create the life of your dreams and I hope some day to meet you and hear about all your successes.
