Conclusion

The job application process is replete with variables. Some of these will forever escape your control, most can be mitigated through careful preparation. In this short book, we tried to equip you with enough information to handle every step of the hiring process. Still, it is rarely enough to go through the process once.

If you fail, don’t lose heart. Many job seekers become discour-aged after when they don’t succeed immediately. Remember that finding employment is a skill that needs time to develop. See unsuccessful ap-plications as opportunities to learn. Edit your resumes and cover letters after each failed attempt. Ask for feedback. Every interview prepares you for the one that will score you a job. There’s a lot to learn, don’t give up—you’re bound to succeed.
