Written by: Basak Serin

Benny Introduction Benny the cat is a hero. He rescues those who are in danger. He is a smart, short-tempered, alert, and brave cat.

He is a gray tabby cat with green eyes. He is medium-sized. He wears a blue collar. Benny resides in the city of Locktown.

Benny is a superhero during the day and a part-time math tutor during the evening hours.

He wears an electric blue cape with the letter “B” written on it in yellow font. The letter also has a yellow lightning bolt on it. Benny resides in a small apartment by himself.

The cool part about Benny’s hero job is that when he wears his superhero cape, he gains superhero powers.

Benny the Hero: Shorts Benny is shopping at a grocery store. He spots a magazine, and the cover of the magazine consists of celebrities.

Benny: These celebrities are so annoying. I’m so sick of them.

The radio plays some music that is not very good but is liked by many.

Benny: This music sucks. I don’t know how people like this and the artist.

Emerald and Benny are in the kitchen eating peanut butter sandwiches. Emerald is Benny’s friend and neighbor.

Emerald is a light brown and white male hamster with light brown eyes.

Emerald: Benny, I was wondering if you had ever visited outer space?

Benny: No, but I bet it would be interesting. Plus, I don’t need a spacesuit if I ever visit there since my superpowers would help me to breathe and protect myself in space.

Emerald: Neat. I was wondering if we could visit the Sun? It’s bright, yellow, shiny, and-Benny: Hot like Daphne.

Emerald: What?

Benny: (Nervously laughs). Nothing.

“Chiptune”

Benny got a call to help someone out. It looks like a cat named Chip needs help fixing his computer. Benny visits to Chip’s house.

Chip is a gray and white male cat with brown eyes. He likes computers and listening to 8-Bit and chiptune music.

He wears a yellow bow tie.

Benny knocked on Chip’s door, and he let Benny inside his house.

Chip: Benny! You’re here! Welcome!

Benny: Tell me again, Chip. I am going to help you fix your computer?

Chip: Yep.

Benny had an unimpressed facial expression.

Chip: I hope we can fix this computer quickly; I have a racecar game to play!

Benny: What? Okay?

Benny sees what the problem is.

Benny: Uh, Chip? I think your computer has a software problem, like a bug. A stubborn one. Also, your computer is very old.

Chip: Fix it!

Benny: Quiet!

As Benny tries to fix the problem, the software bug speaks from the computer monitor.

Software Bug: (Laughs). There’s no defeating me!

The Software Bug is red and black. He has black eyes.

Benny: Ugh! Who are you?! How’d you get in here?!

Chip screams because the software bug looks scary.

Benny tries to calm down and think of ways to get rid of the software bug, but the computer freezes.

Benny: What? The computer froze! In other words, it stopped working altogether! There’s nothing I can do!

You are going to have to get a new computer!

Chip: What? Everything—my car games, my writing—

was on that computer!

Benny: And what? You didn’t save those on a flash drive?!

Chip: No!! I’m not smart! There has got to be a way!

Benny: I said there is no way! You must buy another computer. I’ll pay for it if it’s that hard for you!

Chip disagrees with Benny. Chip tries to fix the computer himself by hitting on it.

Benny: Fine, have it your way. You know that’s not going to work!

Something happens as Chip hits the computer. The software bug gets angry with Chip’s annoyance, and as a result, both Benny and Chip end up stuck inside the computer!

Benny and Chip are inside the computer monitor, and they landed on the floor.

Benny: Ugh, what happened? We’re inside your computer?! How did we end up here?!

Chip nervously chuckled.

Software Bug: You two cats have bothered me enough!

The loud repairs led you two to be trapped inside the computer monitor! Benny, you can thank Chip! Good luck getting out!

Benny growled at Chip.

Chip: I am sorry, Benny! What can we do?

Benny: We? There has to be a way out.

So, Benny looked around everywhere and didn’t see any solutions. He began to hit the computer screen from the inside with his two paws.

Benny: We’re trapped in here! Someone help! Help!

Chip: Don’t worry, Benny, we’ll think of something.

Wait! Can’t your superhero powers save us?

Benny rolled his eyes.

Benny: Oh!

Benny tried to use his powers, but they didn’t work while he was trapped inside the computer.

Benny: What? My powers don’t work here! Oh, great!

Chip: What are we going to do?!

The software bug was tired of the cats and their bickering.

So, he decided to say something to them.

Software Bug: Benny! Chip! If you guys want to get out of here, I’ll help. Under one condition.

Chip: Okay? And what’s that?

Software Bug: You give up your old computer! Seriously, this thing is so old!

Chip: No!

Benny: What? It’s our one-way trip out of here! Do what he says!

Chip shook his head no. Chip crossed his arms.

Benny: Oh, come on!

Chip began to yell at the software bug by saying that he did not want another computer and that he wanted this computer to be fixed.

Software Bug: Ugh! You are so annoying!

The software bug got tired of Chip and electrocuted him.

Software Bug: Get out!

Finally, he freed Benny and Chip from the computer. Chip was hurt from the electrocution.

Chip and Benny are finally back from the computer world to the real world. They are in Chip’s bedroom, where his old computer is. Chip finally came to his senses.

Chip: Fine, I’ll get a new computer.

Benny: Good. Now, was that so hard to do?

Benny’s Fan Mail Questions: Part 3

Benny received a lot of mail from his fans again. He will record a video about it. He gets ready to record the video with his camera and begins to read his fan mail.

Benny: I got a ton of fan mail! Let’s begin.

Benny reads the first letter.

Benny: Mateo, the cat, asks, “Silver or gold?”. Both colors are neat.

Benny: Silver, the cat, asks, “What’s one thing that you can tell us about yourself?”. Okay. I may seem tough and strong, but in reality, I am very sensitive, and I get my feelings hurt easily.

Benny: Nadia, the dog, asks, “Did you go to college? If so, what was your major?”. Yes, I did. I have a bachelor’s degree in Human Services.

Benny: Ruby, the spider, asks, “Pancakes or waffles?”.

Waffles!

Benny: Albert, the cricket, asks, “Do you like perfume or cologne?”. No way! The smell of perfume makes me vomit, and the smell makes me feel sick!

Benny: Edward, the grasshopper, asks, “What are some things you don’t like about the park?”. Dogs, that there is dog waste on the ground, and of loose dogs! Put your dogs on a leash, at least for me!

Benny: Zoo, the cat, asks, “How do you celebrate Father’s Day?”. Nice question. I don’t. (Laughs). Who’d celebrate a parent who’s selfish and dumb?

Benny: Zoe, the ant, asks, “What do you think about physician assistants?”. They are just doctor wannabes. I know one. (Laughs).

Benny: Sunny, the cat, asks, “Do you have any inspirational speeches for us?”. Don’t let anything stop you. Don’t try to be friends with people who do not want to be friends with you. It’s not worth it. Be independent.

You are more important than everyone else.

Benny: Marisa, the cat, asks, “What’s your favorite shade of green?”. Dark green.

Benny: That’s everything. I love my fans!

Benny stopped recording the video and posted it online.

“Planting Trees”

Today, Benny volunteers to plant trees in order to help the Earth. Trees produce oxygen, help wildlife, save water, improve health, and more. However, the hard obstacle is that there is currently a heatwave. It’s about 110°F

(degrees Fahrenheit). It’s very hot outside, and Benny must work in these conditions. The sun is very bright and shiny.

Benny is wearing a blue hat and clothing for gardening.

To cope with the weather conditions, Benny brings lots of cold water, juices with electrolytes, and sunscreen.

Benny begins to plant several trees outside. He is happy that he is helping the environment. A few minutes later, the symptoms of the heatwave begin. He is sweating, has a headache, is fatigued, and more.

Benny: I’m happy that I am helping the environment. But it’s so hot today!

Benny’s headache and fatigue increase.

Benny: Is today the day I become a quitter?!

Benny waters the trees so that they can grow. Benny is done with the workload, and all of the community members congratulate him for his help.

Benny Unlocks a Secret Power Benny the cat and his friend and neighbor, Emerald the hamster, are having breakfast together. They are eating bagels with cream cheese. They are drinking strawberry-banana milkshakes.

Emerald: Benny, do you have some fruit or strawberry-flavored cream cheese to go along with this bagel?

Benny checks the refrigerator.

Benny: No, sorry, Emerald.

Emerald: That’s okay. What will you be doing today?

Benny (in a low-volume voice): Oh, nothing out of the ordinary.

All of a sudden, the volume of Benny’s voice changed.

Benny and Emerald gasped.

Emerald: What happened to your voice? It was very quiet!

Benny (in a high-volume voice): OH, REALLY?!

Emerald: What’s happening?!

Benny (in a normal-volume voice): Sorry, Emerald! It seems as if I can’t control the volume of my voice! Wait!

Last week, I got a warning from my scientist that I may unlock a hidden superpower! Now we know what it is!

Voice manipulation!

Emerald: That’s neat…

Emerald and Benny continue to eat their breakfast.

Benny (in a low-volume voice): Pass the cinnamon, please?

Emerald: What?

Benny (in a high-volume voice): PASS THE

CINNAMON, PLEASE?!

Benny’s loud voice made Emerald’s ears ring. It also made him scared.

What’s next for Benny and his friends?
