Meanwhile, back at the court, Duke Frederick has discovered that his daughter and niece are missing. A lord in his service further informs him that Touchstone the clown is also missing. The lord adds that the woman who serves Celia had overheard Rosalind and Celia talking about Orlando, and the serving woman believes that Rosalind and Celia ran away with the young wrestler.

Duke Frederick is angry and decides to question Oliver de Bois about his brother.
