The scene ends with Rosalind questioning the old shepherd Corin about whether there is any place nearby where they can obtain food and shelter. Corin informs her that the man he works for is selling his cottage and sheep ranch. Rosalind then decides to purchase the cottage and sheep and to hire Corin to work for her. Both Rosalind and Celia thus look forward to settling down to a peaceful life in the country.
