The scene ends with a short soliloquy spoken by Mistress Quickly. She admits that she supports all three of Anne’s suitors – Slender, Caius, and Fenton – since she can profit by helping all of them. But after some thought she concludes that she prefers Fenton over the other two. But before she can give any more thought to the matter, she realizes that she needs to deliver a message to Falstaff from the two merry wives.
