About the author

Anant Aggarwal, the author was born in an era when Amitabh Bachchan was ruling the roost of Indian film industry. The author later joined St. Joseph's Convent School, then Apeejay School and lastly DAV Institute of Management (in a course affiliated under Indraprastha University, Delhi), all of them in his hometown Faridabad, Haryana, India. Having topped throughout these 18 years of education, he always knew a job was never going to be tough to grasp. So he was immediately snatched by Infosys Technologies, Chandigarh. But during his tenure of 5 years, he realized his dreams and talents were getting stifled and he was getting quite older quite soon. So he left to seek greener pastures. After 3 years of meddling with various job and business opportunities, he finally envisioned that he is not made for either and that he is a freelancer in the true sense. And the day a person's thoughts align with his destiny, amalgamation starts taking place. So his dreams started getting closer to him and he ended up writing "Mirchi" for you and for everyone around.

He is also a blogger.

And he is a technical tweaker for his love of gadgets and gizmos.

His Mantra for life is "Never say goodbye, always say Till we meet again..."

About the book

This is a book comprising of ideas that I wish to impart to the world and to my country. All of these ideas are absolutely my personal creations, thought of exhaustively by myself and a few

implemented as well. Though I cannot actualize most of them either due to lack of hardware

required or due to the fact that each one requires extensive research. There were two ways in life for me to go. Either I could have picked one or two of these ideas and put my heart and soul into them or I could have written this book to impart all of them to the globe for everyone to do their own research and use them as per convenience. I chose the latter for my love of writing and majorly because God has been very kind to me in terms of intelligence and I did not wish to waste my energies into compiling and executing a single one of these. Rather, I would continue to exercise my brains all my life and keep springing up with newer solutions that would make the world a better and easier place to live in.

As a very small child, I wanted to be an astronaut maybe because I had read a little about space.

And after a few years of growth my aim turned into being a scientist. Though as I said God has been kind to me in providing me with sheer intelligence, to compensate He has made me quite boisterous. I don't remember opening my books ever before school examinations nor have I read anything, no novels, no newspapers, no magazines, nothing. You might be surprised to know

whatever I have learnt in my life has been through images, sounds and videos. I don't hate reading but I just can't do it, if I try to, I read the first line, then the 10th and then the last. Period. So my aim of becoming a scientist got choked up some years later when I realized I would be needing to spend hours in front of text that has to be read and contemplated. Anyways moving on, vanity prevailed and like any other normal teenager, my aims were all about being a dancer, singer, actor, model, guitarist. Though I am pretty good at all of the aforementioned tasks as well thanks to Almighty but neither got a break nor could amass sufficient courage to pursue any of these. Or maybe destiny did not want me to. Then came the lively 20s and my mind got hooked on to gadgets, gizoms, technical hardware and software. And my objective in life turned towards becoming a software engineer. I remembered studying 15 hours daily for 2 months just to pass the test for Infosys Technologies.

And of course, I managed in the first time itself. 5 years in the company, things were quite fine but something inside my heart felt incomplete, it kept on kicking me to do something that changes or heals the world in some manner. Earlier I did not pay heed, but the day I saw my first piece of hair going grey in color I instantly decided to call it quits. Then came 3 to 4 years of exploration between freelancing, doing a job or business. I was never made for a job which I determined being at Infosys. The next shot I gave was that to business but with the kind of brazenness and boldfaced attitude I was born with, business was never going to be easy. Diplomacy and myself are poles apart. So freelancing it was, and since the day I picked it up, I have been growing mentally and emotionally. It gives me peace to know that I do not have to involve myself in a hierarchy of people and I can treat everyone equally. After trying freelance software, I moved on to technical blogging and finally I governed myself towards becoming an author and here I am today with this 2nd book of mine. Oh wait, this page was supposed to be about the book and not myself. Its still about the book.

I learnt science when I wanted to be an astronaut, research techniques when I wanted to be a scientist, designing and appearance skills when I wanted to be a dancer, model etc., communication and email composing skills when I became a software engineer, and lastly I learnt how to make the best choice of your life after trying out all the three – freelancing, job and business. So in these ideas and this book, you will find a portrayal of all of the above.

I would like to dedicate this book to my wonderful father whose talented genes are running in my cells. Today, I am writing a book 'for' him and soon I'll write a book 'on' him. Thank you Paa!

1. Keep misplacing wallet all the time? Recover it now

A major hassle faced by guys all around the globe is misplacing their wallets. And on the top of it, you'll end up finding them at your home mostly. I got this idea when once I had an interview with an IT Company, woke up early in the morning, got ready, and just before leaving tried to look for my wallet, and yes, it was no surprise that it had to play hide and seek the very day when I had a highly important interview with an IT MNC. I searched every nook and corner of my home, car and garden to see if it might have dropped somewhere. But no, I could not find it. Even google did not answer my search queries that day. So, quite apparently I had to cancel the interview. Though now I thank God since I might have not realized my book writing potential for a few more years had I stepped inside that IT company's door that day. A blessing in disguise for sure. Thankfully, around afternoon I recovered it. Where, you'll come to know at the end of the this idea, which I think a few of you reading, by now must have realized or are making wild guesses!

Anyways, I used the particular image presented above because it kind of sums up what you lose misplacing or dispossessing your wallet. Currency notes, that can range from 100 dollars to 1000

dollars maybe. Credit cards of indefinite value. ATM and debit cards. Your driving license. If you happen to live in Dubai, Nol cards. Business cards of people whom you had to communicate with the same day you end up misplacing it. Some personal notes on handwritten paper that you wish to hide from your wife. A note from your wife including the list of grocery items you need to pick up from the market again that particular day. This person is even carrying an iPod shuffle in his wallet, must be amazingly sturdy or he must be keeping the wallet in shirt. Your PAN card. You train ticket.

Coins, which are so very useful anywhere you shop using cash, else you'll have to be contented with Eclairs and Mentos. A picture of your parents, loved one, or image of God you believe in. To conclude, guys keep almost everything other than their relationships inside their wallet.

http://www.technovoltage.com

index-8_1.jpg

And they also have this inborn talent of misplacing wallets habitually, as if it has come from ancestors, an evolution of sorts. Moreover, most guys are built with close to 0 mb of mental memory capacity, I won't call it dramatic or traumatic if some of them even forget their wives'

names for small periods of time. Sounds like an oxymoron sentence but the truth is guys learn it from birth how to forget things!

So that is what this idea will mainly target i.e. recovering your misplaced wallets. I call it a microscopic idea, because its a tiny solution, a single line answer you may call it.. Zero complexity, minor implementation problems, very little text, and probably very few images required.

Though my hands are pinching to point fingers at our government like most citizens do for most other personal and societal losses, I think it would be fair enough to have a little pity and declare them innocent for this horrible forgetfulness of man. So I won't disturb them from their deep slumberland.

This conversation is going to be entirely based on technology.

Let me clear a little air before proceeding, these ideas are absolutely my own creations, my personal thoughts, a product of my mind, secondly I have no affiliation with any industry. I am not working as an outsider Technical Evangelist for any company or any group and most significantly I have no intentions of taking up a job anywhere unless they let me sit at home, give me complete freedom to think, and then pay me for these ideas. Then I can give them one per day.

The Idea:

The single line idea is to keep a GPS (Global Positioning System) module inside your wallet, mostly the place where you keep coins.

A GPS module looks like the one shown below, this one is 15 * 17 mm or 1.5 * 1.7 cm:

And if you have a smartphone or a tablet with a GPS receiver function, then you can track the exact geo-coordinates of your wallet, and of course, see that on Map applications as well.

http://www.technovoltage.com

Problems, solutions, advantages and points of note:

1. Each of these tiny GPS modules cost anywhere around 15 dollars a piece. So that would add an extra price on your wallet, but it's quite petty when you think of what it can save you. And if they can be procured in a wholesale deal by a wallet manufacturing company itself, then you might even get one for 4 to 5 dollars. Go for Chinese ones, and you might get a few for 1 to 2 dollars each.

Anyways, if you can spend 30 dollars on a piece of leather, then I think it's fairly reasonable to spend 5 to 10 more to save 1000 dollars and loads of anxiety, specially the butterflies of losing that note from your girl friend which you wished to save from your wife's prying eyes.

2. A software application would have to be developed that helps you understand coordinates, for if you look for your wallet on a Map application, it would only be able to show you at max a picture of your home, or mall where you dropped it, so at best you'll only come to know if it's still at your place or if you dropped it while watching a movie late the night before the tragedy. This application would help you read and understand the coordinates accurately, so that you know which part of your home the wallet is currently placed at.

3. A lot of research can be done to refine the hardware and software to allow for features like beeping the GPS receiver (inside mobile) when the GPS module (inside wallet) is in close

approximation or vicinity on the click of a search button.

4. Some new hardware GPS receiver can be developed which changes the color of an LED as you are approaching towards the wallet's GPS module, or moving away from it. For example, it starts turning green when both pieces of hardware come closer while starts turning red when they move further apart so that the mobile user can approach towards the wallet slowly and steadily.

5. A software app can be developed that beeps loudly and raises a warning tone or alarm

when the distance between the GPS receiver module (inside mobile) touches or extends a

threshold pre-defined value from the GPS module (inside wallet). This would be particularly helpful if you end up dropping your wallet from your pocket, say in a crowded bus or a metro train. As soon as it drops or someone tries to pickpocket you, the alarm will go off on your mobile in a flash! And you and your wallet will feel more secure.

6. This solution can be extended to many other normal objects that we might be misplacing on a day-to-day basis. For students, GPS modules that have thickness of less than a millimeter can be developed which can be stuck on their notebooks and books so that they can be tracked whenever they are lost.

7. And this last point is the most useful one. We keep losing hold of our tiny tot's hands in a public place and then have to seek some missing cell department there to make an

announcement and locate the child. How about connecting or stitching this GPS module to a belt that they are wearing or pinning it up to their clothing. Connecting it to point 5 above, the moment they go a little distance apart the beep would go off alarming yourself about your child not being in your vicinity.

We all have a duty to make the world a better place to live in. It is not a perfect solution, just a simple idea to recover misplaced wallets and other objects of daily use and reduce tons of anxiety.

Its improvement and implementation depends on feasibility as well as thorough research by

professionals across the world. I love the fact that I being an Indian can think of such ideas. And this book is my second platform to associate with the common public and my readers. I have

infinite solutions for infinite worldly problems using technology and otherwise and I'll keep pouring them in my books over and over again.

This idea has great managerial and business potential. New wallets, new GPS hardware receivers, new GPS modules, loads of researching, a variety of software applications that can be developed, so http://www.technovoltage.com

it can turn into a huge business in itself.

Warren Buffet says if you want to be rich, you first need to save for the future, and then spend the remaining, while most of the world does the opposite. The world spends first, and then saves from the remaining portion. My idea is for the world, you already haven't saved, and the money in your pockets that you intend to spend is getting lost due to misplaced wallets.

That is it for the first idea.

But I know I still need to apprise you where I found mine.

Some of you might have thought about it, I had kept it under my pillow the previous night before sleeping, so that I do not forget to take it in the morning. And the 0 mb hard disk in my brain forgot the same thing the next day I woke up. Though that day I was anxious and serious, today I look back and have a hearty laugh at my moronic behavior. But as they say, everything happens for good, it was all destined for me to reach this stage of becoming an author.

2. Improving cleanliness in India

Though I do not deem it necessary to define cleanliness in any way and feel that anyone who has read the title would know what this article is about, but we Indians either do not have this word in the Oxford's or Merriam Webster's present at our home, or if it is, we have probably torn that specific page and gulped it up. We are the kings and princes, queens and princesses. No, not of conquering land, but those of littering the land. We find pride in dirtying our roads, throwing garbage on railway tracks, and above all contaminating our souls. Its built-in and stored somewhere, probably inside the ROM's of our heads. (For the technically non-blessed, ROM is just a part of memory in a computer that cannot be erased.) I think that's enough to define what cleanliness is.

Though I have generalized this statement for entire India, let me be very frank. I have spent a good 5 years in Chandigarh, and that city just does not seem to be located inside the periphery of our country. I don't know if its the administrators, or the strictness of traffic police, or sternness of laws, or just the mindset of people but that city is alien to our nation. It is clean, has far more organized traffic, much more orderly parking slots in markets and malls, trench-less roads, squeaky clean parks and what not. Even the idea that I am expressing today first engulfed my mind when I was walking through one of the cleanest roads you'll find in India, the one that runs along Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh. Then I thought of the reason, they have dustbins placed after about every 50 to 100m. That's where this idea stuck me. Anyways, lets leave Chandigarh and come back to other cities and states now.

Let's have a little bit of fun in the beginning and start playing the game of passing the parcel. Our government would pass the parcel to the state heads. The state heads would pass it to local authorities. The local authorities would pass it to sessions court and civil courts, who will pass the parcel to the hiher courts, and at the last stage, the highest court will point fingers at the government that it doesn't do enough in keeping the country clean. So in summary, the kings and queens of our http://www.technovoltage.com

country, the citizens, are not ready to do it, the government is not ready to do it, the courts and the authorities aren't ready to do it. That's the major Catch-22. Our micro, macro, and all intermediate levels have turned so amaurotic that they have tuned their bodies and minds into gyropilot modes of waking up, earning bags full of money, sleeping and repeating the same each and every day of their physical existence as if their tomorrow is a Xerox copy of their yesterday. For once, even if Adolf Hitler were to lead our country for sometime, he'll start scratching his head in a few days and probably resign finding his own citizens not an atom interested in his country's valuation.

I am conveying this idea with absolute instinct and there are no assumptions.

This conversation is not entirely based on technology as I won't be using any gadgets, gizmos or vacuum cleaners to suck the litter up from the roads. Nor am I intending to create a mobile application that would buzz in your ears or needle you in your back if the sensors on your device detect you throwing something from your hand. That would be absolutely brilliant if someone can develop such an application though. For this idea, I would be referring to Internet Service Providers and telecom companies. A few people might call me over optimistic for thinking about cleanliness in India, but I have no clue or pointer whatsoever, from where I inherited not being able to live without a ray of hope regards anything happening in or around my life. I love to leave all personal problems to destiny and solve all other problems with my own hands.

This idea is again going to be a very simple and short one. Zero complexity, zero implementation problems, fractional expenditure for the people and management involved, very little text, and probably no images.

The Idea:

Though we can have every hosuehold keeping a dustbin on the road in front of their homes, which is a marvelous idea otherwise, that would firstly look slightly odd and secondly 99% of Indians won't do that, unless mandated by some court of law. Lastly it might lead to a few world wars between the owners of the homes and people who throw some tarnished content into their private dustbins.

To make it simple, I have a solution. At each place telecom companies, Internet Service Providers, or broadband companies lay wires and cables underground, they also connect them via boxes placed at roughly the ends of each road or lane. These boxes have switches, fuses, and connectors that they use to allot and administer connections in the vicinity. Now, our telecom governing department being the most active department of the country can decree these telecom companies to keep a dustbin wherever and whenever they place such a box, and rivet and secure it to the ground so that its not stolen.

Secondly, whenever they launch a new project, they do a thorough research and identify homes and other places where they will erect their Eiffel towers of communication. So this time around, at places where they erect these towers, they can place and secure a dustbin each, outside, of course.

Problems, solutions, advantages and points of note:

1. The first problem is from where to acquire money for the dustbins to be bought, placed and riveted. Each of the boxes that are placed by telecom companies must be costing around or more than a lakh each in Indian currency, so arranging for a dustbin and securing it to the ground won't put an additional zero to the lakh, rather only add around 2000 to 3000 . So should not be a problem. Again, each of those towers must be costing around 35-50 lakh I guess, so the cost of placing a dustbin would be further more infinitesimal.

http://www.technovoltage.com

2. No company does anything without the motive of profit and inflow of credit, so they will want to find a reason for placing each dustbin. They just won't buy the phrase "On humanitarian grounds."

The external area of the dustbins is their playground, the company that places the dustbin will have complete rights to display whatever advertisements they wish to display on the dustbins, or they can even earn more, pulling ads by becoming affiliates to other companies. Moreover social messages like “Save the girl child” can be embedded on them.

3. How would it keep the country clean? It won't automatically clean the country like a vacuum cleaner, but it will surely reduce litter. If you're walking along a road and about to throw a banana peel, you won't throw it on the road if you see a dustbin at a fairly short distance, most people won't unless they are in an inebriated state.

4. If the idea sees the light of the day and gets implemented, they can even supersede it with different colored dustbins for different kinds of wastes, like biodegradable and non-biodegradable, paper, and plastic, food items, and clothes. I know most Indians are illiterate, hate to mention so, but they are not color-blind. A little education will see them through. I got this from the IT company where I worked and they had them placed inside their campuses.

5. It won't work! A very common can of worms programmed inside every Indian's mind as its way easier to escape than to apply. Psychology. Indians are not bad or filthy, they are merely followers.

They do what they see. So its just a matter of breaking the ice. Have you noticed the number of photographers, professional or otherwise, that have picked up the camera after the movie “Wake Up Sid” released, yes, because it broke the ice, it mentioned in bold letters it can happen and it works, so they followed it. Why do they now wear seat belts on national highways? Because they noticed others getting penalized when they weren't doing so. So they followed. Strangely, here the courts broke the ice. Why have they stopped smoking cigarettes in public places? Because now they see no one else doing it. They followed suit again. Why is Delhi metro so clean? They don't see anyone else littering, so they just follow. Though its an awfully despicable and deplorable trait to only follow and do, specially after becoming an adult, yet it works both ways, negatively and positively.

Sadly, most Indians like to stand and applaud, or sit and abuse, rather than act, change and get applauded. Sadly, most Indians still don't want to act like leaders of change, they only wish to be managers of disguise.

This is just a simple idea to increase the number of dustbins placed on our roads and thus reduce trash a bit. Its improvement and implementation depends on feasibility and of course, whether some Indians act on it or not, if they do, others will follow.

This idea does not have much managerial and business aspect except for companies promoting

advertisements on these dustbins and/or creating ads that can be advertised on media channels which promote such an idea.

Adoption of this method, its usage, its implementation, its success probability only depends on the acceptance factor of the idea but it can make a huge change if followed diligently.

3. Utility of Automated Glasses and Augmented Reality - In Medicine

This idea will advocate the use of Automated Glasses and Augmented Reality in the field of

medicine and how it can make medicine even more magical, trustworthy and noble than it already is.

Are these Automated Glasses all about improving appearances and vanity or can they be used to help humanity in a large number of ways. This one as well as the next 2 ideas of mine are going to touch on this topic. Since the time the first impressions of Automated Glasses came around, we have been reading that they can respond to voice commands through ultra-advanced voice

recognition technology. They have inbuilt video cameras that shoot videos in a virtual reality like manner straight from where you are seeing things, they can click snapshots, they can tell which directions one needs to take to reach a certain destination, one can send voice messages, maybe even have calling functionality, they can translate one's words into any language and speak them back to him/her, they can tell one when a train or plane is leaving and from which terminal, they can be asked questions and search facilities can be integrated. They can perform a bulky list of functions, but is that enough. Is that all what technology blesses us with? This question will get cleared a little bit later when I'll discuss the idea after defining Augmented Reality.

For now let's come to the second part - Augmented Reality. Of course, like that famous Aamir Khan 3 Idiots scene about the definition of a machine, Augmented Reality will surely have an

incomprehensible, tenebrous, cryptic and mystical definition if you'll try to read it in b
