How to Secure a WordPress Blog

Over the past few months, I have actually personally been hacked. It was ugly!

This Section discusses some measures that an ordinary person can take to protect their WordPress site.

Why is WordPress Vulnerable to Hacking and Other Exploits

All websites on the Internet are vulnerable to hacking and other exploits. There

are no exceptions. The reason is very simple: Websites are hosted on computer

systems that are continually connected to the Internet, exposed to the World

Wide-Web, 24-7. Anyone who wants to connect to it, whether potential customers or hackers, have access.

Symptoms of a Hacked WordPress Site

Hacked WordPress sites have exhibited one or more of the following symptoms:

1.The site may be defaced in some way.

2.The hackers install hidden links or script that point to sites they own. Or

they steal passwords and such. 3.The hackers may install malware that will install on the computers of those

who visit the site.

4.Then as a result of the above things happening, Google may remove the

site from their search engine results, which would bring your business to a halt.
