Option 2 – Hire a Professional

If you have the budget and/or your company already has professionals on board then they can develop your website for you. But make sure that they understand that your websites purpose is to sell your products or services and build relationships with your customers and prospects. I say this because I know lots of developers and most of them like nothing better than to play with the latest and greatest technologies. An occasional indulgence is fine but we must keep our eyes on the bottom line :-). You can also use an outsourcing service like Elance and get developers to bid for your project.

Pros:
Ï you get to concentrate on developing your business
Ï professionally designed website

Cons

Ï can be expensive in the longer term though with care it is possible to keep costs low and get good quality work done

Ï you need to take the time to develop a relationship with a developer you trust
