FEMI’S FATHER

Good morning, my daughter.

FEMI’S FATHER (CONT’D) Femi has never brought a girl home, not to talk of a beautiful one.

FEMI’S FATHER (CONT’D) (to Femi; calls out)

Come here my son!

Femi hurriedly makes a path to his Father’s feet. He lies prostrate before his father and he greets in Yoruba:

FEMI

E karo, baba.

Screen Translation:

Good morning, father.

Femi’s Father finally stands on his feet and embraces his son. He speaks softly still locking Femi in his embrace:

FEMI’S FATHER

Welcome home my son.

Close on Femi’s Father’s face as he breathes out a smile of satisfaction. He lets go of Femi after a moment of feeling his warmth.

FEMI

(to his Father) Where’s Dapo?

FEMI’S FATHER (laughs)

He’s in his room with his girlfriend.

FEMI

Victoria?

FEMI’S FATHER

No this is a different one. You know your brother and women. Always changing them like underwear. I didn’t even bother to know the name of this one.

FEMI’S FATHER (CONT’D) (laughs)

I’m too old for that. My memory isn’t as sharp as it used to be before.
