FEMI

So you didn’t send out this message to Emeka?

Chioma shakes her head sideways.

CHIOMA

I didn’t.

FEMI (speculates)

An aftermath of these kind of accidents is memory loss. Maybe you did send the message, but you can’t remember.

CHIOMA (infuriated)

I remember everything until the accident. Except I miraculously woke up after the accident, sent the message to Emeka, and then went back into a coma.

FEMI

If you really didn’t send this message to Emeka, then that will suggest that there was someone else at the accident scene, apart from you and Uche, who walked out alive.

FEMI (CONT’D) (looking determined)

And I’ll find out who that person is. I just have to speak to Emeka. Find out who he met with last night. But his number is switched off. I’ve called him several times and his number is still switched off.

CHIOMA

(face dressed in fear)

This is really beginning to scare the hell out of me.

CHIOMA (CONT’D) (swallows her saliva)

I just hope Emeka is alright.

FEMI

Okay, that will be all for now. You should have some rest now if you want to be out of here tomorrow. I’ll be in touch if needed.

Femi reaches for his left breast pocket, draws out a white Nigeria Police complimentary-card, and points it to Chioma.
