Chapter 53
Jason got a call that Andre and Cheryl were at the Bassetlaw Community Hospital. “What happened,” inquired Jason?
“Cheryl was visiting her mother with Andre when they got shot by a gunman in the hospital.”
“Are they ok?”
“I don’t know,” said the other person on the line.
“Thank you,” said Jason. He hesitated briefly before dialing Raquel’s mobile. Thankfully he had programmed her number on his mobile in the speed dialing feature.
“Hello Darling,” Raquel answered on the other end.
“Raquel I am coming for you now. Cheryl and Andre have been shot. They are both in the hospital.”
“What?? Oh no!! What happened?”
“I’ll explain when I get there. I will be there in fifteen minutes. See you soon.”
Immediately Raquel gave some instructions to Rhea her office manager who was sitting in for Cheryl. She explained that she had an emergency and she would be rushing out in a bit. Raquel was careful not to mention Cheryl. She did not want to upset anyone.
Once she had finished, Raquel rushed over to the house, showered and changed. By the time she finished and was out of the door Jason was pulling into the driveway. In a smooth maneuver Raquel opened the door and was in the vehicle in seconds. She kissed Jason and they drove off.
“What Happened love?”
“I don’t know. Stephen called me and told me that Andre was at the hospital with Cheryl visiting her mom. Her mom’s surgery was scheduled for today. From what I gather a gunman entered the hospital and the two of them along with a handful of others were shot.”
“I hope they’re ok.
“That’s what we are going to find out now.”
What should have been a thirty minute journey was completed in fifteen minutes. Once they arrived at the Hospital Jason parked in the hospital’s parking lot. Jason took the time to kiss Raquel before they alighted the vehicle. They secured the vehicle and made their way to the front desk. After establishing the whereabouts of Cheryl and Andre they made their way to the hospital ward.
