Chapter 55

Three weeks later Raquel informed Jason that she was pregnant. Jason was delighted. He smiled from ear to ear. Three months later he caressed her slightly swollen tummy. “Well have you gone to see your ‘Gynae’ as yet?” Jason asked. “Not as yet but we can make an appointment for next week.”

“Sure I would love to go with you. This will be a new and exciting experience for both of us, but especially for me.”

“Yes my darling. I will let you know of the date.” And with that she kissed her wonderful husband.

They both had breakfast and Raquel went off to the office at R-Grafix. She had scheduled a meeting with Cheryl. She announced to Cheryl her pregnancy. Cheryl was delighted. She hugged and kissed Raquel and expressed her joy for both Raquel and Jason.

They then got down to the serious business. They analyzed how each of the businesses in the R-Group was performing. The newest addition R-Delicious was up and running and was doing really well. There were four outlets and all four were performing well above all of their projected targets. All of the other R-Group companies were above budget and performing well.

Cheryl and Raquel were making plans for the tweaking and expansion of all of the businesses. For R-Grafix and R- Documents the plan was to extend the services to the university, colleges and tech-Voc institutes in addition to the community groups.

For R-Projects the idea was being fleshed out of offering specialized services to small businesses, Community and voluntary groups and to churches, especially their head offices. R-Photos the thrust was to extend special services to students, hotels (especially for weddings), to businesses especially for awards and company functions and to schools for graduations and other functions.

The ideas for R-Valet were to increase bookings by offering specials to companies, churches and taxi services. R- Tees expansion was planned in the area of schools, churches for the different shows and festivals which were being held on a regular annual basis.

There was potential for R-Travel. However Raquel had decided that this would be developed strategically in six months. It would have to be carefully planned using special offers to businesses and churches.

Cheryl also suggested tweaking the logo a little as well as new corporate colors. Raquel agreed. Cheryl promised that she would have it all ready within three weeks. They planned a general staff meeting for three to four weeks time. At this meeting they would make the necessary announcements and plans for an appreciation dinner and staff awards function.
