Scram steamed a Chevy Suburban, roosting the wheels in a world of speed, high-tech, and performance. The depot packed all kinds of stock cars, hot rods, and a dragster. The Suburban racked over head. A team of mechanics probed the belly with a lamp. The scene resembled a team beefing up a race car. The mechanics replaced heavy-duty shocks, and dual exhaust. New tires mounted on custom chrome wheels, and bolted onto the chassis with high-power air guns.

The engine block hoisted out of the well, and suspended by a chain-linked cradle. A young tech worked the block, removing all parts. He dumped them in a chrome bucket, squirting them clean.

Each piece, wiped, and placed back into the block. The kid was deep into it, man. Total focus, like an aged watchmaker.

The engine was bolted back inside the motor well. The Suburban hit the bay floor, ready for action.
