SAMPLE LETTERS

Here you will find some contact information, and form letter samples that you can use.

NOTE: THE SAMPLE LETTERS AVAILABLE IN THIS SECTION ARE NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR THE ADVICE OF AN ATTORNEY. LEGAL ADVICE OF ANY NATURE SHOULD BE SOUGHT FROM COMPETENT, INDEPENDENT, LEGAL COUNSEL IN THE RELEVANT JURISDICTION. ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTIES ARE MADE REGARDING THE SUITABILITY OF THESE FORMS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Remember the letters found in this section are only a sample letters to give you an idea of how to word, and structure your letter. We have used them many times over the years. Often times they work, but remember that you are always dealing with people. Some creditors are more difficult to deal with then others.

For some creditors, it may help to have a “middleman” negotiate on your behalf. Creditors can sometimes be more difficult with the person that owes them… than a third party.

FIRST: the objective is to dispute with the credit bureau, and get the information totally taken off your credit report! SECOND: If that is not possible… get the creditor to accept a lower pay off amount then what is actually owed. You want to at least get them to accept half, or more if possible. Do not send them any money until they send a letter back to you, on the company’s letter head, dated, and signed, with the person’s title.

Your first goal is to send a letter of dispute to each of the credit bureaus to dispute the information. Then hope that the company does not respond within the time limit and get the information taken off your credit report.

Always remember that if you know you owe the money…..  then you know you owe the money.

But the law says creditors have 30 days to respond to the credit bureau. If they do not provide proof that you owed the credit bureau must remove the information. That DOESN’T mean that if they respond on day 39 the credit bureau won’t simply put the information back up there. But the majority of the time, especially if it is an old debt, if they have not responded in 30 days they probably never will.
