Chapter 14
Learning processes
What do we get from attending a school, a news paper, a discussion or a discourse ? Just information.
Information is not knowledge. Information is a source of knowledge or a raw material to make knowledge.
Knowledge is not wisdom.
One may seek to know the difference between knowledge and wisdom.
Applying knowledge to situations calls for conscious search for solution. Access times from conscious mind are high. Difficult to get you need them urgently.
Application of the same knowledge, which is transferred to subconscious mind becomes wisdom. This happens automatically after due validation (repeated application with no failures).
Alternately some one in whom we have a strong faith, can set such problem- solution pair into one’s subconscious mind, Then the sequence of processes described becomes redundant. This can happen at a very young age for a gifted few.
There are ready made knowledge.
The great thinkers whole arntand thought- over them preserved the knowledge that are generic. These knowledge, by and large they are typically applicable across the humanity, irrespective of the time and place.
Some of such collections form the holy books of a particular path of Faith or religion.
The Curse:
There is enough knowledge available in each culture in the form of prose, poetry stories. Not many benefit from them. Why?
Humanity must have been cursed that such knowledge should not come of use unless they work for it and earn the knowledge themselves, Anything given free, does not work for them. Even the knowledge if given free none of us can enjoy them. To be useful, one has to work hard to earn.
