Chapter 22

Knowledge or faith

K:   There   is   no   knowledge   that   is infallible. Not that every act based on faith would let any one down.

Me: That does not mean that knowledge is   redundant.   Living   on   pure   faith, devoid  of  knowledge,  certainly  leave people poor, enslaved and desperate.

K:   There   is   a   marked   difference between Living  by  Faith  (in  God)  and  living  by knowledge, I prefer to compare, a blind person walking with the help of a stick and other a normal person walking with the help of his eyes.

N:  Now,  hopefully,  the  readers  are  in sync with both of us that:

(1)  Even  the  most  educated  person lives   partly   by   faith   and   partly   by knowledge.

(2)  What  makes  one  person  different from the other  is  the  proportion  of  faith  in  the mix of Faith & Knowledge.

(3) Higher the knowledge lesser is the pain in life.

(4))  Current  discussion  on  knowledge is    limited    to    our    sense-perceived knowledge alone.

(5)    There    are    three    levels    of knowledge.

K: Sir, we will conclude this chapter by sharing our thoughts on knowledge and faith.

(A) There are no questioning or thinking processes involved in the path of faith. If,  one  start  questioning  or  examining faith,  the  faith  would  vanish.  On  the contrary, There is no knowledge without questioning and thinking processes.

(B) In a society where there is endless exploitation,   poor   laws   and   weak judiciary, faith is a disaster.

Knowledge can help reducing the risk of being exploited.

(C) Faith in God is any day better than faith in fellow   human   being   because   every believer is gullible  to  exploitation,  in  their  own way.

N::   A   mixture   of   both   faith   and knowledge comes handy.

K:  This mixed approach to live is widely followed.

Even the renowned medical practitioners some times put up a sign board in their clinic that reads:

I treat and HE cures.

Mixed     application     of     faith     and knowledge.

EPILOGUE

I have come to the concluding part of this book.

The education system in the world has a lot of scope to deliver knowledge to the students. I have suggested some of the learning processes that I could think of. I can think of many more which I will be adding to my blog. Those who are in the knowledge space could come with more  processes  and  suitable  material to   substitute   the   current   material, progressively.

The Education system is seen by poor people  as  a  gate  way  to  prosperity through white collar jobs.

An agrarian economy like ours do not have as many white collar jobs as the poor seeking to shelve their economic and social backwardness.

But  with  ability  to  learn  and  acquire knowledge,  one  can  find  decent  ways of  living  other  than  white  collar  jobs. Most importantly, fewer people with a higher levels of ability to learn, exploit the majority and leave them poor and deprived.

First step towards prosperity is freedom from   being   exploited.   This   can   be achieved  through  improving  learning abilities and reducing the gap between the exploiters and exploited.

So  the  educational  institutions  should be proactive in redefining its own role, promise  knowledge  to  its  clients  and deliver it.

Several  highly  qualified  people  might look  down  upon  my  suggestions  and ignore  them  and  move  on.  That  is  I experience in the last couple of years.

I am sure, things will change sooner or latter,  because  the  only  phenomenon which   is   unchanging   is   CHANGES. Our  country  was,  for  long,  ruled  by foreigners and that left the nation with oppressed people. Most nations nation even after freedom, continue to follow the  old  laws  and  practices  that  deny equitable wealth across all its subjects. This must be the real problem of people in the third world.

It  is  the  political  and  social  leader’s responsibility   to   ensure   reasonable distribution  of  national  wealth  across all the country man so that the poor do not chase the mirage.

It is unfortunate, that some leaders are trying hard to make people believe that Education can make them prosperous. Current   education   system   can   only make  the  a  poor  poorer.  If,  a  poor becomes  prosperous,  it  would  be  an exception.

By  shifting  the  emphasis  in  education system from Teaching to Learning, we can build a strong and vibrant nation.

Good wishes
