The mission of Clean Cities is to advance the nation’s economic, environmental, and energy security by supporting local decisions to adopt practices that contribute to the reduction of petroleum consumption in the transportation sector. Nearly 100 local Clean Cities coalitions develop partnerships in the public and private sectors to promote alternative and renewable fuels, fuel economy, idle reduction, and other emerging technologies.
