A. YOUR CONSCIENCE

‘Which show the work of the law, written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them.

Conscience is an automatic inbuilt mechanism in us that judges the moral quality of our thoughts, words or actions.

It causes you to feel remorse for wrong thoughts, actions or words and gives you a feeling of freedom and boldness if your thoughts, actions and words are right. (This is normal conscience that has not been boxed).

Your conscience does not fear you; it mostly tells you the truth although you can shut it up. 1 Jn. 320 Heb1022

1 John. 3:19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. 3:20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 3:21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Man is created in God’s image; and the signature of God in every life is the conscience. Continuous disagreement and rebellion with your conscience hardens it.

A sanctified conscience is a good tool in the hand of the Holy Spirit – the spirit of man is the candle of the Lord

"The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly."

Paul the apostle reveals how important his conscience is in his ultimate desire as a witness. This undoubtedly is a sanctified conscience

Rom 9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit’

2Cor. 1:12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and Godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have behaved ourselves in the world’’

2Tim.1:3 I thank God whom I serve from my fore-fathers with pure conscience…’’

Child of God! What is the testimony of your conscience? True, you have a lot of testimonies; how the Lord has used you gloriously, preaching wonderful messages, delivering the oppressed, you are a mighty man of God indeed, no doubt.

But consider the little fundamentals of faith; brotherly love, sharing, relationship, both with your wife, children, the younger ones in faith who are not as spiritual as you. John 168-11,

Hebrews 9:14 NLT

Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.

As you pray in the evening ready to retire to bed everyday, do you care to re-wind how you spent your day and weigh it with the testimony of your conscience! Or you are basking in your activity for God and you shut your conscience up!

Could it be that some people are just bearing you? Some are hurt because of your untamed character! Some of these young Christians are offended in their spirit because you feel you are closer to God (God’s first Cousin) than they.

God is not looking for those to work for him. God is looking for the faultiest of vessels who will be obedient, available and teachable.

If you cannot obey your conscience and make it pure, neither will the Holy Spirit trust you with the wealth of heaven no matter your prayers.

“For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged------------ that We should not be condemned with the world”.1 Cor. 11:31-32

B. THE ANGELS

Ps. 34 “ The angel of the Lord encamps round about those who fear him and delivers them”

Ps 91:11-12 He gives his angles charge over thee to keep thee in all your ways, they shall bear thee in their hands……..”

Heb 1:14 “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation”

Matthew 18:10 “ Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones, for I say unto you that in heaven, their angels do always behold the face of my father, who is in heaven”

Brethren, angels are everywhere! The day you became a child of God, angels started guiding you- to keep you in all your ways.

Sometimes ago, I had an auto- accident in a place that was so far from my own state. My car somersaulted many times and was squeezed beyond recognition. My head was broken and the shards of the wind screen had entered my head. I was gone, there was no logical reason why I should live. But somehow, I found myself in the hospital in a village in the South East. God being merciful, when i gained consciousness I found a young lady by my hospital bed; I asked “who are you”? She said I should not worry, I insisted to know who she was and she answered, “Are you not a man of God? I am sent to you.” She told me to thank God for what God had done for me instead of asking questions! All effort to know her identity failed. The next day she told me to leave and go home that I was being looked for, but that I should first of all go and see my mother.

She saw me off to the bus garage; when she left, I realized she was a messenger! From all the discussion we had, my understanding came fully back to me and I knew I had a divine visitation.

When I got home, alas my mother had been praying for me for three days before and was still fasting when I came with swollen head and with particles of glasses in my head. I was completely healed later

How do you think your guardian angels will feel when you fall into sin? Cover their faces? They are of purer eyes than to behold iniquity

Live a life that they will be proud to minister to you.
