CHAPTER I

Beginnings of Ambition

My entrepreneurial spirit first flickered when I was a little kid. I wasn’t even up to 7 years old when I started handling huge amounts of money for my mom, I used to be the one staying at the shop whenever my mom is not around or when the whole family traveled. They will be out of the town for more than two weeks and I’ll still handle the business and give a clear account whenever they return home, even though I used to know through the looks on her face that she’s not satisfied or not happy with my account always. Being the first son of my family, I was the only one among my parents first four children that didn’t go to stay with someone or a family member, the only time I left my parents was in 2007, when I finished my nursery II, I was allowed to go to Abuja to stay with my uncle for the holidays and immediately I returned from the holidays, I was given a double promotion and I was in Primary II instead of Primary I.

CHAPTER II

Temptations and Turning

Points

In the bustling halls of the public secondary school, friendships formed and ambitions bloomed. However,I stopped staying in my mom’s shop when I got to SS 1 after an incident, and the allure of quick gains and peer pressure led me down a path of skipping classes to gamble with friends. I used to skip classes, to gamble on dice and bet on PS2 during school hours. As the dice rolled, my grades slipped, I realized the divergence from your aspirations.

That was the first time I turned penny to profits, there were days I win and there were days I lose. Gradually, I became too deep and addicted to gambling, it made me derailed a lot academically and I was happy when I was promoted from SS 2 to SS 3 on trial because I was supposed to repeat SS2.

CHAPTER III

Young Adult

When I was re-writing my WAEC in 2019, I worked at a restaurant serving drivers, making donuts, and selling cigarettes.

Despite the less-than-ideal environment, I was grateful for the opportunity to earn money and gain work experience. However, I also had some companions from the streets with whom I used to hang out and share clothes. Looking back, I now understand why my parents kept me away from negative influences; they were trying to protect me from harm. As a result, I have learned to keep to myself and focus on my personal growth, which has brought me much fulfillment. I believe that our experiences shape us and teach us valuable lessons, and this period of my life was no exception. It taught me about the importance of making the right choices and surrounding myself with positive influences.

From Pennies to Profits

My early experiences as a young boy at my mom's shop were some of the most valuable lessons I could have ever received. Then the skills I gained from selling cigarettes has really helped me managing the daily operations of the business and it continues to serve me well till today. I have since expanded my knowledge to include digital marketing and e-commerce, and I am confident in my ability to teach others these valuable skills. I already bagged three awards in my school as the ‘ENTREPRENUER

OF THE YEAR’, and it brings me great joy to share my experiences and knowledge with others, and I hope to inspire them to pursue their dreams of entrepreneurship as well.

There is no greater feeling than seeing someone succeed and knowing that I played a small role in their success.
