The Significance of Repentance
The Significance of Repentance is to make a conscious and spiritual decision to turn away from our evil ways so that we may enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
(Matt 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.)
Prayer
Father, today I have decided to make a conscious and spiritual decision to turn away from my evil ways. Lord, I pray that you will forgive me. I repent and I surrender to your will and to your way. Lord, I realize that your way is right.
Psalm 51:1-13 (NKJV)
1 Have mercy upon me, O God,
According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
Blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
And cleanse me from my sin(s).
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions,
9 Hide Your face from my sins,
And blot out all my iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
