Book Description

A writer is on the verge of sumbitting his novel to the publishing houses. Before doing so he reads it once more, making in the process comments in the margin in order to take them into account in the final version. At the end however realising that the text without the comments doesn't work he suddenly decides to send them together as a whole.

    He really knows his subject. I got quite nostalgic reading his descriptions of places off the beaten track. It's always a thrill when you discover a place not many others know about.

    A totally excellent book with top illustrations, this book has the quality that you wouldn't expect in a free download. Written mainly for the budget traveller off the beaten track, the first section gives advice on all the activities that put the Real Australia into your tour.The second section is a selection of stories about the other Australia that tourists don't normally see. It's told by a master raconteur. Mike Dixon brings out the character of true Australians in a way you won't get from a Lonely Planet guide.
