It wasn’t irregular for her to end calls abruptly but it crossed Scotty’s mind that maybe this time she might have actually been hurt. He sighed and turned round on his back. Looking up at the ceiling he reassured himself that everything was going to be alright. Only my Annie knows how to turn a casual “wake up” call into a dramatic scene from some Telenovela, he thought to himself as he finally found the energy to get out of bed.

 

Soon he was in the shower going through his verse. If ever he had felt like the man, this moment was it. Once, twice and by the time he was going through it for the third time three quarters of an hour were all
