Ried was stubborn and that was something that both he and council man Pavadi knew very well. "Well sir, with all due respect...if you're not ordering me to stop then I have the obligation to continue. Whatever this leads to, I will face it.'

The silence from the council man's side allowed for Ried to continue speaking.

"Is there anything else sir, I have a mission to oversee."

Council man Pavadi wasn't going to insist, maybe Ried saw something that he didn't but it wasn't going to ruin his night.

"It's your funeral Ried, just remember that there was a point you could've turned back."

Ried paused for a moment.

"Thank you sir, I appreciate the gesture." The phone cut and Ried stood in the hall way alone for a couple of minutes. Everything in him was urging to continue the mission. The council man brought perspective but it was never going to halt him.
