This Korean War-Era story begins with an Air Force second lieutenant who is assigned to an air base in Greenland as a petroleum officer. He leaves behind a girlfriend who is in a hospital fighting tuberculosis. Her letters filled with optimism and courage, lift his morale and inspire him to persevere against very difficult odds.
