Chapter Two
~Cassie~
First Day of School
I got up to Rebecca pounding on my door yelling for me to shower and get ready. I got up from my bed and walked into my bathroom to take a shower and brush my teeth. After I took a quick shower I got out to get dressed. I walked into my closet and grabbed a top, my flats and a pair of shorts before walking out. Dropping my towel I put on my bra and underwear than pulled on my shorts and top. Walking to the mirror behind my door I did my hair than went to the other mirror by my dresser to put on my makeup. I walked out my room and saw my sister in the hall waiting for me with her arms crossed. “Looking cute sis” I said with a smile. “Thanks, you too” We walked downstairs to the kitchen and saw Kelsey making breakfast.
“Morning” She turned and gave us each a plate with a pancake and bacon. I sat at the table and started eating.
“Now here are the rules” She said making me roll my eyes. Here we go again
“Ugh, Kelsey really? I’m 17 not 2 I think I know the rules by now”
“But you don’t follow them. This school already has people that make the worker’s job hard don’t add to it. Please Cassie”
“Fine, I’ll behave”
“Thank you, that’s all I ask” I nodded and put my plate in the sink.
“Am I taking the car? Or are you driving us?” I asked Kelsey
“I’ll take you today, your car is coming tomorrow night” I nodded and we walked out the house. We got in the car and she pulled out the driveway to take us to school.“Do you have everything?”
“Yep” I said
“What about you Becky?” Did she really have to always baby us? I'm almost an adult for crying out loud
“Yea, thanks for the ride”
“See you guys at home” We got out the car and she drove away leaving us infront of the school building. I looked at her and took her hand for encouragement
“Ready?”
“Ready as I’ll ever been” We nodded to each other and walked inside. Once I opened the doors and walked in with Rebecca to see it was like a zoo. Guys were checking out girls, couple probably raping each other on the lockers, cheerleaders laughing in the circle, jocks throwing a football around.
“Let’s just find the office” We walked through the hall passing through all the immature idiots and found the office. I opened the door and walked to the front desk.
“Excuse me?” Rebecca said to the woman at the front desk. The old woman didn’t look up.
“I said Excuse me” Still nothing, she turned to me and I got annoyed so I shouted to get her attention
“HEY OLD BITCH” She looked up with a mad look on her face
“Can I help you?” She said with a glare
“We want our schedules and stuff” I said looking at her with the same expression
“Names?”
“Cassie Weston and Rebekah Weston” She went looking through the computer and printed out our stuff. She walked to the back and grabbed a few textbooks. She walked back over to us and gave Rebekah her freshman books and gave me my senior books.
“Here are your schedules”
“Later” I walked out after shoving the books in my bag. We walked into the hall way and saw no one was there.
We reached our lockers and I put all the books inside other than my English and Math. I turned to Rebekah after shutting my locker.
“See you in lunch?”
“Yup” I hugged her and walked the opposite way to get to my first class. We turned and smiled at each other before walking again. I walked through the halls and looked around to find the English class when I saw a black hooded figure walking infront of me. I saw he went into room 230 which was the English room. I opened the door and walked inside getting everyone’s attention on me.
“Oh you must be Cassandra Weston”
“Yes, you can just call me Cassie though” She smiled at me with a nod before pointing to the seats in the room.
“Well you can just find a seat anywhere” I looked around and there were only 3 seats available. One by a cheerleader, another by a nerdy looking guy and the last was in the back by a guy with a black jacket. I walked past the other two and went straight to the back. I heard the sound of shuffling of seats and I turned to see everyone looking at me with scared looks on their faces. I shrugged it off and sat in the chair noticing the guy staring at me. Everyone looked at him and he pointed straight.
“If anyone has something to say than speak. If not than look forward” Everyone turned their heads forward and I looked at him.
“Same goes for you” I rolled my eyes and went to turn my head but he grabbed my chin to make me look at him.
“Let go you prick” I said loud enough to get everyone’s attention
“Roll your eyes at me again and next time you won’t have any eyes left” I looked at face and opened my eyes widened and rolled them infront of his face on purpose. Next thing I knew I felt a sting on my right cheek. I held my cheek and he looked at me
“If you want to be a child, you will be treated as one”
“You have anger issues” I felt another sting go across my cheek and felt my eyes water. I turned to the teacher and she put her head down to avoid my gaze. I looked at everyone else but they all turned away
“Listen to me you little bitch, you do not disobey me. I will get the devil on you. You’re lucky I didn’t smack you that hard” I looked down and felt a tear roll down my cheek
“Cry all you want, no one is going to help you” The bell rang and I ran out of class and into the girls bathroom. I looked at my reflection and saw my cheek was red. I looked down and turned on the sink. I grabbed a paper towel and wet it to put it on my cheek because I didn’t want Becky to say anything. I looked in the mirror again and saw the black hooded figure looking at me again. It was the same one from the diner last night. I turned and didn’t see anyone behind me. I walked out the bathroom and went to Math. I didn’t see my sister in the hall so I guess she was in class. I opened the classroom door and walked inside. I saw a empty seat next to a girl and sat down. She turned to me and smiled.
“Hi I’m Lola, Your Cassie right?”
“Yea, nice to meet you”
“I heard about what happened in English”
“Who is that guy?”
“His name is Travis Dillon, he is friends with the Devil” I looked at her confused and the door opened.
"Who's the devil? I've been hearing a lot of talk about him but isn't he a fictional character?" She shook her head
“That’s the devil” She said pointing to a guy in black jeans, white t-shirt, black leather jacket and red Supra sneakers. He had earrings and his jacket was rolled up showing a sleeve of tattoos coming down his right and left arm
“Why do you call him Devil?” I asked taking his apperance. Holy fuck he was sexy but somehow I got a chill as he walked row by row getting closer to my row.
“He’s the most dangerous and scariest person you will ever see” Lola said with a whisper obviously not wanting attention by him.
“Why?”
“Let’s just say that you are lucky that you only dealt with his friend and not him. He isn’t like his friends, he won’t think twice about cutting your throat out” I nodded shakily and the teacher walked in. I turned my head and saw him staring at me with a straight face. I turned back around wanting for the bell to ring.
Soon enough I saw Becky by my locker.
“Hey”
“How’s your first day so far?”
“It’s alright, I met a few people” I nodded and we walked to the cafeteria.
“How’s yours?”
“This school isn’t what Kelsey thought it would be”
“What do you mean?”
“There are people here that aren’t known for being on honor roll”
“Oh” We got our lunch and I saw Lola with a girl. She waved me over and I took Rebecca with me.
“Lola, this is my little sister Rebecca , Becky this is Lola. I met her in Math”
“Nice to meet you, this is my best friend Yasmine”
“Hey” I smiled and sat down
“You’re that girl that got Travis pissed off. Damn, you’re brave”
“Thank? I think” She laughed and all movement in the café stopped once the two doors opened.
“Uh no”
“What?”
“Devil” I turned and saw him with 4 guys behind him all with the same black leather jacket.
“Who’s Devil?”
“Someone that I don’t want you speaking or looking at” I told her and she nodded. She started eating her lunch and I heard footsteps getting closer.
“Don’t move” Yasmine said with a scared tone
“Why?”
“They’re coming to our table” She answered making me gulp as the footsteps stopped infront of the table. The one they call Devil leaned over and looked at me with his almost soul-less eyes digging into me
“Are you Cassie?” I looked at the girls and they looked scared
“I ASKED YOU A QUESTION” He shouted making me jump and nod
“Yes, yes I’m Cassie”
“Get up” His eyes were dark and to say I was scared was an understatement. I thought I was going to shit my pants because of how terrifying he was
“Outside the café NOW” I got my bag and walked outside with them.
We walked outside and 2 of the guys stood infront of the doors making sure no one exited
“I heard you mouthed back to one of my guys”
“I-I didn’t mean to, I-I’m new here” He leaned against the locker trapping me as my back hit the cold lock. I felt his breath hit me when he spoke
“I’m letting you off with a warning, but if you ever disrespect one of them again. A slap on the cheek will be a good thing to what I will do to you” I nodded at him and they walked out the building. The doors opened and I fell to the floor breathing heavy
“Cassie are you alright?” I felt a hand touch my shoulder, I looked to see Rebecca and the girls
“I-I’m fine. I just want to go home”
“I’ll call Kelsey” I nodded and she walked to get her phone from her locker.
Soon enough Kelsey arrived and I left with Rebecca and the girls followed in Lola’s car. We got to the house and Kelsey sighed as she looked at me
“Are you sure your ok?”
“I’m fine, just a bit scared”
“What kind of dick puts his hand on a girl?” She was pissed
“It’s ok. I’ll just move passed it”
“No one did anything?” She said with a digusted tone
“What are they supposed to do? Everyone is scared of them”
“Stand up to them” She said in a duh tone making me look down
“And get themselves killed? I don’t think so” she nodded and got up without another word
“I’ll make you guys something to eat”
“Ok” We walked up to my room while Rebecca went to video chat her friend Mandy back home
“What did he say?”
“I have a warning, but he really scared me guys. I thought he was going to kill me”
“Just be careful” I nodded and after a while they left and I showered.
“Time for bed” Kelsey said at my door frame
“Night” She closed the door and I turned off my lamp
I felt a rush of cold air and turned on my light. The window was open and there was a note tapped to it
