ABOUT THE ABOUT
(THE AUTHOR)

Birdie in the hand for life’s rich demand,
except when that tune clutches my heart.
The insurgency began and you missed it
and promising never, never to part.

A philanderer’s tie, a murderer’s shoe,
let the love that was once a fire remain an ember.
Life’s rich demand creates supply in the hand,
let it sleep like the dead desire I only remember.

Of the powers, the only vote that matters,
till clouds came along to disperse the joys we had tasted.
Silence means security, silence means approval
and now when I hear people curse the chance that was wasted,

I know but too well what they mean.
