CHAPTER 3
While he was reflecting upon his life choices and challenges a faint glow was growing along the horizon. The break of dawn was always a terrible surprise, as engulfed in his reverie, his reflections had sent him miles away from reality.
It was now time to get prepared for work, once again he wouldn't have slept at all. He didn't care, being tired numbed his senses and rendered daytime bearable.
At home, the reflection in the mirror caught his eye, he wasn?t a very good-looking guy, his skin was pale almost bluish, his mouth was very thin, his head bald. The only thing females enjoyed was his wide soulful almond-shaped eyes. His long fingers prodded his face as if to make sure it was really his reflection. One of them had been bandaged after a tiny incident at work the day before but the seven others he could still use. He straightened his outfit, he was still wearing his favorite silver jump suit.
He had to hurry, his working hours were about to start. He jumped into the cleaning cubicle, put his home into suspension mode, and caught the air shuttle to the City Hall like every morning.
From above he watched the usual scenery of glass domes with patches of blue grass and the two stars rising up. They were called Sun Prime and Sun Second to his people. To us humans, they were known as Alpha Centauri A and B.
