CHAPTER SIXTEEN

A few months had passed and a figure stood as quiet as a mouse in a serene field of flowers and headstones. Harry was standing over his sister’s grave relaying his thoughts to her. He was sure she was watching over him as he bent down to lay some beautiful carnations at the foot of her epitaph.

Standing up and basking in the warm sunlight, he felt a hand reach over and cup his own.

“She would have been proud of your strength Harry to see it through to the end”

He smiled and squeezed the outstretched hand a bit tighter as he took in her warm, friendly features.

“Becky, I’m sure she would have approved of you. She was very protective of me but she will understand I have to make way for someone new.”

“She had good taste Harry,” whispered Becky and planted a kiss on his cheek. “Do you know anything about the doctor’s condition?”

“Yes, I had a call this morning. Emily is making slow progress but she’ll be right as rain in a couple of months.”

“Ah good, like you always say Harry, all is well in the world again!”

He shot a broad smile back at her, he loved Beckys’optimism.
