VANILLA BOURBON BREAD

 

2 cups all-purpose flour

1½ cups sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

¾ teaspoon salt

1½ cups heavy cream

3 large eggs

2 tablespoons bourbon

1 tablespoon vanilla

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9- by 5-inch loaf pan. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt; set aside. Blend the cream, eggs, bourbon and vanilla until thoroughly mixed. Add to dry ingredients and stir by hand just until dry ingredients are evenly moistened. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool completely.
