Oriental Summertime Salad

 

2 packages ramen noodles (discard seasoning packet and break noodles into bite-size pieces)

1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine

1/4 cup sesame seeds

1/2 cup vinegar

3/4 cup sugar

1 cup vegetable oil

2 tablespoons Kikkoman's naturally brewed soy sauce

3 pounds napa cabbage, thinly sliced

6 green onions, sliced

1 cup sliced strawberries

1/2 cup blueberries

1/2 cup pineapple tidbits

1/2 cup mandarin oranges

1/2 cup sliced honey roasted almonds

 In large skillet over medium heat, saute broken noodles in margarine, stirring until brown, 3 to 4 minutes. Add sesame seeds and brown 1 minute. Set aside.

In small bowl, whisk together vinegar, sugar and oil until sugar is dissolved. Add soy sauce and set aside.

Shortly before serving, combine noodles with remaining ingredients except soy sauce mixture. Mix just until combined. Just prior to serving, pour soy sauce mixture over salad and mix. Makes 6 servings.
