Appendix

Reading through this section is not critical to your success from the above techniques; however it does offer some extra insight into how the game of Bingo works and the mathematics behind the game. It also demonstrates that by looking for readily available clues on your Bingo game screen, you can get find information that can help you make more informed decisions on which strategies you should use and also gain an edge over other players. Be warned though, this section isn t exactly light reading and does contain some mathematics

You ll remember from technique 2 that I mentioned that I estimate that in most Bingo games at most websites that the number of cards bought by an average player per game is 4-6 cards. So how did I reach this conclusion?

Well firstly, there are two methods I used to reach this figure. The first method I used was to watch smaller rooms very closely. Before a game begins, you ll see that the Prize Pot cash amount for the next game increases as players buy cards for the next game. This is how Bingo sites work cards bought by players actually fund the Prize pot amount, but only after the Bingo site has taken their cut .

In smaller games on certain websites, it s possible to count every time the figure goes up this lets you work out exactly how many players have bought cards for each game. Then, I will buy just one card to see how much the Prize Pot increases. This is to establish how much the Bingo site takes for itself and how much of the card price goes into the prize fund.

So if I spent 25p on a card, and the prize pot goes up by 20p after I buy it, then we know that the Bingo site takes a cut of 5p per card bought.

Now we notice that the prize pot increases 18 times that tells us that there are 18 players playing in this game.
When the game begins, the prize pot shows £29.80. In this particular game, the minimum prize pot is set at £10 so we know that the prize pot cash contributed by players = £19.80

Therefore we can divide £19.80 by the 18 players and then by 20p (the amount that goes into the prize pot per card bought) to work out the average number of card bought by each player.

This gives us a total of 5.5 cards bought on average by each of those 18 players for this particular game.

I have tested this over many different Bingo websites, and have found that the average number of cards bought per player ranges between 4 and 6 cards. Only very rarely has it ever strayed outside of this range.

By the way, this is also the method that I used to determine that only 50 - 80% of people in the room are active players. Next time you play Bingo, take a closer look at your game screen, there s a lot more information there than you realise information that you can use to give yourself an advantage over other players.

If you want to try this for yourself then make sure you watch games with fewer players. In bigger games, it s much more difficult to keep track and there s a bigger chance of different people buying tickets at the same time, which will skew your figures. Also, some newer Bingo sites now only show prize pot increases at a 5 second interval so you never know exactly how many players have bought cards.

My second method for finding out the average number of cards bought per player is much less scientific. I wanted to check whether bigger games followed the same trend, but as I mentioned before, this is virtually impossible to do with any accuracy. So I just ask people. Yes, it s as simple as that. I often ask people in the chat rooms how many cards they are playing per game and I m always surprised at how many people tell me!
I wouldn t recommend doing this yourself until you ve properly established yourself within a chat room; you re quite likely to annoy people if you enter a chat room for the first time and just ask how many cards is everyone playing? I always like to be quite chatty in the chat rooms and once people know and trust me a bit better, will ask then. I ll ask something like haven t had much luck today, how many cards are you playing? or haven t won for ages are you all playing 20 cards each or something? Keep it friendly or humorous and you re more likely to get a better response.

humorous and you re more likely to get a better response. 6 cards per game.

I hope you found this appendix useful and that it s given you some more insight into how the game of Bingo works and how you can use those clues you find on your Bingo screen to your advantage.
