40. Make Your School Or Workplace Ethically Responsible!

Imagine the amount of products your workplace or school uses every year? Imagine if you could ensure the products they’re using are ethically produced. If you can, look into persuading your school or workplace to agree to a number of ethical targets. These could be a recycling policy if they don’t already have one, a canteen with the option of free-range meat and dolphin friendly tuna, cleaning products that haven’t been tested on animals and responsibly sourced stationery products. Get others to support your requests, the more people who want this, the more likely that your school or workplace will agree to it.

41. Persuade Your Council To Implement An Ethical Policy

As well as your school or workplace, how about looking into persuading your council to implement an ethical policy? Do they have a recycling policy? Does their office stationery come from environmentally responsible sources? Do they have a policy on not allowing circuses that use animals? Are their office cleaning products environmentally friendly and cruelty free? Do they have a policy whereby pets can’t be given as prizes in local fairs etc? Do they encourage local shops to have fur free policies? Do they have humane pest control options? Do they have a policy to ensure they have a plastic-free town? Get other people on-side and always be polite and understanding in your communication with them to win them over!
