Chapter 36

Suspended In Time

We made it through Christmas and New Years and started actively trying to figure out a way to find a place to live. We were still operating on very limited funds and had been unable to secure suitable employment to meet our family needs. I had owned a printing plant while on the coast and was able to secure some evening shift work at a local printing company. I was not making enough money to support our family with the small amount of work that was offered, so I kept looking for something more suitable.

At this point we knew that we had left Biloxi at the leading of the LORD, and we knew we were where He wanted us. However, we were not certain what He had in store for us, so we did not know if we were there to begin a ministry or to simply get a job and start all over. I believed we were there to enter into ministry, so soon after committing to make the Olive Branch our home church I had dropped off a resume to the leadership. Although I firmly believed that the LORD was directing our steps, no doors were opening, and we were still in the dark as to our real mission in Lawson. It was like we were suspended in time.
